Hart of Dixie (American TV Series)

Starring: Rachel Bilson, Jaime King, Cress Williams, Wilson Bethel, Scott Porter

I'm not a big fan of Rachel Bilson. I thought she was just "another" American actress. And in watching shows, I'm really particular with the cast, especially the main character. But when I read the synopsis (written below), I said, "Hey! This is a pretty interesting plot." So I'm here writing about it. But before I spill anything, read the synopsis first. ^_~

Fast-talking New Yorker and brand new doctor Zoe Hart has it all figured out - after graduating top of her class from medical school, she'll follow in her father's footsteps and become a cardio-thoracic surgeon. But when her dreams fall apart, Zoe decides to accept an offer from a stranger, Dr. Harley Wilkes, to work for him at his small practice in Bluebell, Alabama. Zoe arrives in this small Gulf Coast only to find that Harley has passed away and left his half of the medical practice to her in his will (www.imbd.com).

So I watched a few episodes, and I loved it!
The many things I love about this show...

One. Rachel Bilson is a good actress after all. I like her voice and her clothes. These are clothes I'd loooove to wear, but I don't think I can pull them off like Rachel aka Zoe Hart can.

Two. Jaime King aka Lemon Breeland has some really cute dresses. These are clothes I can actually wear confidently.

Three. Wade Kinsella, portrayed by Wilson Bethel, is just cute and entrancing. :*)

Four. The characters' lines are witty, and the actors can really deliver their lines well. I feel like I'm improving my English skills just by listening to them. Haah! And I learn new words from every episode. Call me crazy, but I feel like I'm learning how to speak English natively through this show. ^_~

So if you're the type of person who'd like to learn medical stuff in a not-so-heavy way and learn fashion as well (Zoe and Lemon fashion ^_^), then watch Hart of Dixie. Have fun! *^_^*

The Hunger Games (film)

Starring: Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson

In a dystopian future, the totalitarian nation of Panem is divided between 12 districts and the Capitol. Each year, two young representatives from each district are selected by lottery to participate in The Hunger Games. Part entertainment, part brutal retribution for a past rebellion, the televised games are broadcast throughout Panem. The 24 participants are forced to eliminate their competitors while the citizens of Panem are required to watch. When 16-year-old Katniss's young sister, Prim, is selected as District 12's female representative, Katniss volunteers to take her place. She and her male counterpart Peeta, are pitted against bigger, stronger representatives who have trained for this their whole lives. Written by Suzanne Collins  


I'm not a fan, but it was okay. I was bored at the first half of the movie, but when the fighting started, I got  excited and scared a bit. There were one or two funny moments and some "kilig" moments. Well, they were not really "kilig" moments, but since there were reactors behind me (some guys who react a lot), I tend to laugh and giggle with them. Also, it would have been better if there was more screening time for each contestant in the Hunger Games, so viewers would get to know their personalities and abilities better.

Would I recommend this movie? Well, yes. Because it's famous today. You wouldn't wanna be behind your peers. But for me, nothing beats Harry Potter classics! Nyehe ;D

The movie was based on Aron Ralston's autobiography, Between a Rock and a Hard Place.

The picture says it all. He was forced to amputate his right arm to free himself from the boulder. I know, it's sad, but hey, he's alive and inspiring people. Everything do happens for a reason. <(^_~)/

The amputation scene really disturbed me. I couldn't even watch it straight. And it so happened that I was eating pineapple during that bloody scene. My internals were driving me nuts!

The scene with my boyfriend:
Me: Is it done?
BF: No.
Me: What's he doing?
BF: Still cutting.
Me: Why are you watching?
BF: I have to know.
Me: Why?
BF: (face distorted) It's bloody.
Me: (puke)
No, of course I didn't puke, but I seriously wanted to.

Anyway, this is the real Aron Ralston with his wife, Jessica Trusty, whom he met three years after the accident.

Mirror Mirror: The Snow White Legend Comes Alive

I never heard of this adaptation. I just accidentally ran into this movie.

First impression: Serious and dark

While watching the movie: Can't stop laughing

After the movie: Listed it as my current top favorite movie of 2012

Five reasons why I love this movie: It's funny, funny, funny, funny, and have I mentioned it's funny? <(^_^)/

It's seriously funny! I can't even count the number of times I've laughed during the movie. If you're the type of person who wants a good laugh and a good script, watch this movie. You will not regret!

But seriously, here are my reasons for liking the movie:

1. It's funny! \(^_^)/ It really is. (Annoying me! Nyaha~)

2. Julia Roberts as the Evil Queen is perfect. She's evil, elegant, and extravagant.

3. I love the dresses! I love love looooovvveee the dresses!!!
(Sadly, the costume designer, Eiko Ishioka, who was the most acclaimed designer in Japan, died of pancreatic cancer on January 21, 2012 without seeing the finished film. /(T^T)\ R.I.P. Eiko.)

4. Finally, I like the plot. It's different. It's something you don't expect from a Snow White movie, though this is more preference-based.

Tokyo Boy (Japanese Film)

I'm currently hooked with Japanese films mostly because of the hot guys. Nyehe /(#^.^#)\ But this one is different. I don't like the lead guy at all. (*^_^*) But he's fine.

Anyway, this movie is about Minato, a young girl who was traumatized at a young age by being abandoned by her parents and left with her senile grandmother. She frequently corresponds with a pen-pal named Night, a boy about the same age as her that she's never actually seen in person. Although Minato and Night are very different - Minato is upbeat while Night is brooding, they get along anyway and she regularly updates him on the happenings in her daily life. Minato is even willing to confide in Night that she's falling in love with a boy she's recently met named Sho. (AsianWiki)

Aww.. Sounds like a love story, right? Well, whether it's a love story or not, it's up to you to find out. Here's Part 1/10.

By looking at this picture, you might not have any idea why the picture is so. Or if you're really smart, unlike me, then you can figure out the story without even watching.

Yes~ Minato is none other than Maki Horikita from
Hanazakari no Kimitachi e. I think she's really
pretty in this movie.

However, if you watch the first half of the movie, you'll easily figure the story out. At times, the movie gets really slow and boring, but the arrangement of events is pretty awesome, so I forgive the boredom.

I just don't get why the title is Tokyo Boy. Maybe because he, not Sho but the other "he" (You'll get this when you've watched the movie), lives in Tokyo. Still doesn't make sense. Shame on me, an English major. I can't even analyze a movie title critically.

PS. I want to work in a convenience store in Japan! \(^-^)v

PSS. The movie gets creepy sometimes. I'm shivering right now. Haha :S

High School Debut (Japanese Film)

This is a romantic comedy movie based on a manga of the same name.

Haruna Nagashima devoted herself to softball while in middle school. Now that she is in high school, Haruna believes it's time to find a boyfriend. Unfortunately for Haruna, she didn't pay attention to trends and is now clueless on how to attract a boy. Through a fortuitous event, Haruna encounters popular upperclassman You Komiyama. Haruna asks You to teach her how to become attractive to boys. You agrees but with one condition. She can't fall in love with him. (Asianwiki)

How sweet is that? *melts melts* But what's sweeter is this~ You Komiyama aka Junpei Mizobata.


Sweeter than chocolate~

 He is just adorable. And through quick research, I found out that he was Saga Kazuma in Hanazakari no Kimitachi e.

"The uniform suits him well - a refreshing ikemen
(cool face/good-looking guy)." Indeed! \(^_~)/ 

Silly me! I didn't even notice him. During that time, I was still obsessed with my ex-husband, Mizushima Hiro.

*sigh* Still handsome! Nothing's changed. ~.~

But I'm sooo over him. Or am I? Anyway, now I want to watch Hanazakari no Kimitachi e again and drool over my beloved Junpei. /(*_~)>

Going back to High School Debut, many comments said the manga is way better than the movie. Well, I don't really care. I like the movie. Hehe. If you're not the cheesy type of person, like me, then this movie is definitely for you. You can find comic-relief anywhere in the movie. Just when the movie starts to get dramatic, something comic happens. I like that kind of movie - unpredictable, crazy, funny, enthusiastic, yet sweet; a movie that makes you (#^.^#) --> blush~ Kekeke

PS. What I also like about this movie is when You said "Yada~!!" which means "Stop!" It's a favorite Japanese expression of me and my boyfriend. We say it around 10 times a day. v(^_^)v
